Driving simulator with hand controls at The CIL's Alameda office.

Assistive technology, often referred to as “AT,” includes just about anything – that is, any physical material or object – that makes it easier for a person to perform a task.  Our Alameda office features a state of the art AT Lab that allows individuals to try out all types of in-home AT such as:

  • Voice activated lights, TV, and phone
  • Smart phone controlled security systems, locks, and thermostat
  • VI/Blind book readers, screen readers, and magnifiers
  • Various Mobility Devices
  • Driving simulator with hand controls

Be sure to check out POWER ON, an assistive technology review show produced by The CIL's AT team in Alameda.
