How Information is Used
The CIL uses your data to maintain records of donations, send acknowledgements, mail year-end tax statements to you, send newsletters, and notices/direct mail pieces. We normally add you to our mailing list, unless you request otherwise. Our third-party mailing service is contractually obligated to treat the lists with confidentiality and is prohibited from transferring them elsewhere.
All sensitive and/or credit information supplied by you when making donations to our website is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and information is not retained once processed.
No Sharing of Personal Information
The CIL will not publicly disclose the identity of a donor (individual or institutional) without the prior permission of the donor in question. The CIL collects the names and contact information of donors for purposes of future correspondence (including fundraising solicitations) but will not sell or give such info to any third party.
To Update or Remove your Information on our Mailing List
You always have the right to review, change, or remove information on file/ future communications from The CIL, either at the point of collection, as instructed in communications you receive, or by contacting us by mail or email:
