The 4th Annual Ed Roberts Awards

TheCIL is proud to have brought together the Ed Roberts Awards' biggest lineup yet for an evening to remember at the UC Theatre in downtown Berkeley, CA. Five individuals were honored on January 23, 2020, for their work in advancing disability rights and the independent living movement.
Zack Gottsagen is the star of The Peanut Butter Falcon and was recently named the Associated Press Breakthrough Entertainer of 2019.
RJ Mitte is an actor and advocate best known for his role as Walter "Flynn" White Jr. in AMC's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning thriller, Breaking Bad.
Ali Stroker is a Tony Award-winning actress and star of Oklahoma! on Broadway. Ali also played TheCIL's own Judy Heumann in Comedy Central's Drunk History.
Stephanie Thomas received an Ed Roberts Award for her work as a Disability Fashion Styling Expert, and as Founder and CEO of Cur8able, a business dedicated to the art and science of dressing with disabilities.
Jim Fousekis received a Special Recognition Award at the Ed Roberts Awards for his service to TheCIL as head of the Friends of CIL from 1984-1988. During this time, Jim helped to secure TheCIL's financial future with private funding.
